My name is Marieke Maartense-Molendijk and I live in Almere with my husband and two wonderful sons (born in 2014 and 2016).
I qualified as a midwife in 2006 and have been practising this wonderful profession with great pleasure and dedication ever since. I still find it truly special to be able to support women on their journey to motherhood and to be part of such a unique and life-changing period in their lives. It remains a special experience to help expectant parents understand their unborn child’s development and to look forward together to the birth of their child.
As I would like to be able to support women more comprehensively, I have continued my professional development beyond midwifery. In 2010, I completed my training in ultrasound scanning and now also work as an ultrasound technician. This enables me to provide even more comprehensive support to women and their partners during pregnancy.
To make the care I provide for women even more comprehensive, I have also specialised in contraceptive care and running contraceptive consultation sessions. I am happy to take the time to explain and provide information about the menstrual cycle and the various forms of contraception, so that every woman can make a choice that suits her situation and preferences.
Since 2017, I have also been trained in the insertion and removal of coil contraceptives and Implanon rods. I believe it is important that women feel listened to, relaxed and at ease.
Personal attention and a woman-friendly approach are always my top priorities.
In 2022, I also completed my training as a hormone coach. This enables me to support women through the various stages of life in which hormones influence how you feel — both physically and mentally. By focusing on nutrition, lifestyle and stress management, I enjoy working with you to identify what is needed to help you regain a sense of balance. I believe it is important for every woman to feel comfortable in her own body and to be able to approach life with confidence and energy.
What makes my work so rewarding is the variety and the personal connection. I enjoy continuing to develop myself and am always keen to explore new ways of supporting women even better. The moment a baby is born and a woman and her partner become parents remains, for me, special and meaningful every single time.
I hope to meet you all soon at our practice.
