De Eerste Stap
We didn't simply pick this name for our Midwifery Practice. 'De Eerste Stap' or 'The First Step' has two meanings. As prospective parents, you are taking the first step towards a future with your child in our midwifery practice. Or maybe even your first step towards parenthood. In addition, your child will take their first step, the walk reflex, in our hands. A special moment.
At De Eerste Stap, we work with highly experienced midwives and ultrasound technicians and are always here to help. We offer consultations and midwifery care in three districts: Almere Haven, Almere Poort and Almere City. It doesn't matter where you live when it comes to ultrasounds and consultations for contraception.

There's probably a lot of new information coming your way. We are happy to offer you ‘The first step after a positive pregnancy test’. Your first step... is to arrange for a committed and caring midwife.
You are in good hands with us, and we will be happy to support you during pregnancy and labour in our own personal, down-to-earth and above all caring way. Meet the midwives of De Eerste Stap and register. We will then receive your details via a secure e-mail and create a file for you. Then our assistant Quirijne will call you to make the first appointment.

Intake
The first appointment is an extensive intake – face to face or by telephone – so we can get to know each other. We will ask you a lot of questions about your health, your partner's health, any family illnesses and various other things. After this intake, we will schedule your appointments for the first scan and the follow-up visits.
