My name is Rochelle Rothuizen and I have been working as a midwife since 2018.
At the beginning of my career, I worked in the neonatology department and in the hospital as a clinical obstetrician. From March 2019, I will be working in the Almere region.
At the age of 17, I got to attend the birth of my younger brother, which was incredibly special. From that moment I knew for sure that I wanted to become an obstetrician, 2018 was the day; I graduated as an obstetrician. I find the development from embryo to baby and from partners to parents incredibly interesting. It is therefore an honour to accompany you during this special period. As a midwife, I find it important to get to know you and build a bond. Besides physiology, my goal is to act within your personal wishes as much as possible. The best thing about being a midwife is being allowed to attend all the special moments of pregnancy, birth and puerperium. It is a vulnerable special period with sometimes difficult moments in which I find it an honour to accompany you.
